Quick answer: Start with the refrigerant or process gas and the compressor type. Then check the lubricant chemistry and viscosity grade named in the equipment documentation. CP-1009 is recorded for ammonia refrigeration compressor service; CP-1516 is a PAG lubricant for propane refrigeration and flooded rotary-screw applications; CP-4600 is a PAO lubricant for low-temperature and hydrocarbon-gas compressor service; CP-4700 is an alkylbenzene oil recorded for R22, R407C, R12 and R502 systems. A number such as 68 does not make the four families interchangeable.
A compressor oil request needs more than a viscosity number. The refrigerant or process gas sets the first boundary. The compressor type sets the next one. The lubricant chemistry and the grade then have to match the equipment requirement and the operating conditions.
For a quotation, send the compressor brand and model, refrigerant or process gas, current oil, requested grade, quantity, package, destination country, destination port and required documents. That information lets the supplier separate an ammonia lubricant request from a propane PAG request or an R22 alkylbenzene request before a price is prepared.
| CPI family | Chemistry or positioning | Recorded application | Grade examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| CP-1009 | CPI 1009 series refrigeration lubricant; highly refined ammonia lubricant | Ammonia refrigeration compressor service | CP-1009-68, CP-1009-100 |
| CP-1516 | PAG specialty gas-compressor lubricant | Propane refrigeration and flooded rotary-screw compressor applications | CP-1516-68, CP-1516-100 |
| CP-4600 | PAO synthetic refrigeration compressor lubricant | Low-temperature service, hydrocarbon-gas compressor applications and selected propylene screw-compressor service | CP-4600-32, CP-4600-68 |
| CP-4700 | Alkylbenzene synthetic refrigeration oil | R22, R407C, R12 and R502 refrigeration compressor systems | CP-4700-32, CP-4700-68 |
Identify the family before checking the grade number. Two products can both carry a 68 designation and still belong to different chemical families with different application records.

CP-1009 is the family recorded for ammonia refrigeration compressor service. The current product range includes CP-1009-68 and CP-1009-100. The two pages identify the products as CPI 1009 series refrigeration lubricants, with the compressor requirement and selected grade confirmed as part of the order.
Choose between the two CP-1009 grades from the compressor documentation, current oil label and required viscosity. The product pages support the application match, while the equipment record determines the grade to quote.

CP-1516 is recorded as a PAG specialty gas-compressor lubricant for propane refrigeration and flooded rotary-screw compressor applications. CP-1516-68 has a typical viscosity of 66.75 cSt at 40 °C, while CP-1516-100 has a typical viscosity of 105.9 cSt at 40 °C. Both values use ASTM D445 in the product records.
The grade number helps identify the viscosity level within the CP-1516 family. It does not turn CP-1516-68 into an equivalent of CP-4600-68 or CP-4700-68. Keep the PAG chemistry and the compressor application together in the request.

CP-4600 is the PAO family in this group. CP-4600-32 is recorded for low-temperature service and hydrocarbon-gas compressor applications. CP-4600-68 is recorded for propylene refrigeration and oil-flooded rotary-screw compressor service, with a typical viscosity of 68.5 cSt at 40 °C under ASTM D445.
The CP-4600 pages describe the series as a wax-free synthetic formulation with low-temperature properties. The compressor model, refrigerant or process gas and current lubricant still belong in the technical check before the grade is released.

CP-4700 is the alkylbenzene family. The product records list R22, R407C, R12 and R502 refrigeration compressor systems as applications. CP-4700-32 has a typical viscosity of 30.60 cSt at 40 °C, and CP-4700-68 has a typical viscosity of 56.04 cSt at 40 °C. Both records identify ASTM D445 as the test method.
The CP-4700 family is therefore selected by matching the recorded refrigerant system and the required grade. The 32 and 68 products sit in the same family, but CP-4700-68 should not be treated as a general replacement for every other 68-grade CPI lubricant.

CP-1516-68, CP-4600-68 and CP-4700-68 show the problem clearly. Their names share the number 68, but the records identify PAG, PAO and alkylbenzene chemistry respectively. Their application records also point to different refrigerants and compressor duties.
A purchase request that says only “CPI 68” leaves the main technical decision open. The family code, compressor model and refrigerant should travel together on the request and quotation.
Send the following information:
For distributor orders, add the planned stock quantity and the grades that need to be kept together. That allows the quotation to separate CP-1009 ammonia products from CP-1516 PAG, CP-4600 PAO and CP-4700 alkylbenzene products.
Qishanr supplies the eight CPI products through separate product pages for each family and grade. The quote is prepared against the selected product, package, destination and document requirement. The product pages provide the starting point for checking the grade before the order is released.

The two products belong to different chemical families and have different recorded applications. Match the product to the compressor documentation, refrigerant or process gas and current oil before selecting a replacement.
CP-1009 is the family recorded for ammonia refrigeration compressor service. The current product pages include CP-1009-68 and CP-1009-100.
CP-1516-68 is a PAG specialty gas-compressor lubricant recorded for propane refrigeration and flooded rotary-screw applications. CP-4600-68 is a PAO lubricant recorded for propylene refrigeration and oil-flooded rotary-screw service.
The current CPI product range records CP-1009-100 as part of the CPI 1009 series for ammonia compressor service. CP-4700-68 is an alkylbenzene product recorded for R22, R407C, R12 and R502 systems. The family and application are different.
Send the compressor model, refrigerant or process gas, current oil, requested family and grade, quantity, package, destination and document requirements. A nameplate or current-container photograph helps identify the request.
